Mangaluru: The World Konkani Centre has tied up with Kadike Trust to evolve Kavi Kale designs on Udupi saris. The Kavi Kale art form is preserved and promoted by Konkani temples across the west coast of India, but is under threat due to the modernisation of temple structures. Udupi saris are traditional handloom saris having a glorious history. The Kadike Trust has been relentlessly working to revive this age-old tradition, which was on the brink of extinction. These organisations are now working on presenting Kavi Kale designs on saris.
